About Murphstone
Murphstone is a Canberra-based creative studio specialising in architectural, real estate and commercial photography and video.
Working with us is about more than showcasing your latest project, or getting your property on the market – we honour what makes your work or business unique.
Lachlan Johnstone heads up an experienced operation, offering only the highest quality photographic and creative results – what only comes with years of industry experience with in the real estate and architectural field.

Lachlan (pronounced the Scottish way, Lack-lan) has photographed over 15,000 homes, so if you’ve bought or sold in the last 15 years he’s likely to have stepped foot in it.
Long story short - he’s a decent bloke, a great photographer, and old enough to have seen the industry change in exciting ways.
When he’s not protecting the goals for Wests’ first grade hockey team, or taking walks with Murphy, Lachlan loves learning about new photographic and video techniques and technology.
After 15 years, Trish has some pretty impressive party tricks involving font and colour identification.
She heads up the visual and creative aspects of Murphstone, including branding for property developments, and design and marketing projects.
When she’s not managing her jealousy about coming second to Murphy in her marriage, she loves visiting art galleries, tries to keep her succulent garden alive, and lectures in Graphic Design at the University of Canberra.
Murphy lives his best life every day. A natural grounded anchor for the team, Murphy brings a calm and mindful approach to his work. You’ll find him protecting the office perimeter from his possum enemy, or enjoying a snack between important meetings about the bone budget.
This four and a half year old Border Collie wunderkind can sit, wait, shake, spin (only to the left though), close cupboard doors, and keeps a sharp eye on the sheep across the road.
